Soft polyethylene caps are more pliable than other Snap Caps and are easier to place on the vial. Popular choice when using a large number of caps at one time. These caps may not seal as well as other Snap Caps and should be used with sample solvents with low volatility. Y Shape Pre-Slit provides a greater target area for needles and are easier to penetrate. The 1.0mm Septa is thicker than most and offers improved sealing compared with other similar Septa. Pre-Slit Septa are normally recommended for Waters Alliance and Acquity instruments.

Butyl Rubber facing the glass vial provides a very good seal, due to its elasticity. Combining inertness of PTFE and elasticity of Butyl Rubber. This type of Septa is commonly known as Pharma-Fix™ and is temperature resistant from -40⁰ to 120⁰C.
